Tutora (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is an English learning app operated by vineet.
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices when you use the
Tutora app (com.tutora.speaklearn).
1. Information we collect
Account information: phone number and authentication identifiers when you sign in (via Firebase Authentication).
Profile information: name and learning preferences you provide during onboarding or in settings.
Voice and audio: microphone audio when you practice speaking, use AI voice sessions, or join co-learner voice calls. Audio may be processed for speech recognition, text-to-speech, and real-time voice communication.
Learning activity: lesson progress, session history, scores, streaks, and in-app interactions stored to personalize your experience.
Subscription and purchase data: subscription status and purchase tokens processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
Device and app data: device type, operating system version, app version, crash logs, and general usage analytics needed to operate and improve the app.
Advertising identifier: Google Advertising ID may be used where ads are shown (AdMob), subject to your device settings.
Peer call matching data: when you use co-learner calls, we use Firebase Realtime Database and Firestore to match you with another user and establish a voice connection via WebRTC.
2. How we use information
Provide AI-powered English practice, lessons, and voice sessions.
Match you with co-learners for voice practice calls.
Save your progress and sync data across sessions.
Process subscriptions and enforce free vs. Pro access.
Improve app performance, fix bugs, and prevent abuse.
Send service-related communications when necessary.
Display ads to free users where applicable.
3. Third-party services
We use trusted third parties that process data on our behalf, including:
Google Firebase — authentication, cloud database, and backend services.
Google Play Billing — subscription purchases.
Google AdMob — advertising (where enabled).
Google Gemini / cloud AI providers — generating learning responses from your practice inputs.
WebRTC infrastructure — peer-to-peer voice connectivity for co-learner calls.
These providers have their own privacy policies. We share only what is needed to operate Tutora.
4. Data retention
We keep your account and learning data while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account
and associated data by contacting us. Some records may be retained where required by law or for legitimate
business purposes (e.g. fraud prevention).
5. Your choices and rights
You can update profile information in the app.
You can manage microphone permission in Android settings.
You can manage ad personalization in your device Google settings.
You can cancel subscriptions through Google Play.
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data by emailing us.
6. Children’s privacy
Tutora is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission
or storage is 100% secure.
8. International transfers
Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country, including by our service providers.
By using Tutora, you consent to such transfers where permitted by law.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
Continued use of Tutora after changes means you accept the updated policy.
